A Violent Confrontation in Olámbe

The Ajuwon Division of the Ogun State Police Command has successfully apprehended a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, in connection with a deadly knife attack that left the community of Olámbe in shock. According to police records, the incident unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Musa allegedly turned on a group of individuals following frustrations linked to unsuccessful business transactions. When the victims reportedly attempted to intervene and de-escalate his agitation, the suspect launched a violent assault using a knife.

Casualties and Critical Injuries

The attack resulted in five casualties. Two of the victims, 25-year-old Gbadamasi Ibrahim and 40-year-old Chinedu, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead by medical professionals shortly after arriving at a local hospital. Three other men—Mohammed Abubakar (35), Ashiru Adamu (25), and Paul Lawrence (25)—were also stabbed during the encounter. Police spokespersons confirmed that while these three survivors remain in critical condition, they are currently responding to treatment under close medical supervision.

Apprehension and Legal Proceedings

Following the stabbings, the suspect initially fled the scene, prompting a rapid search operation by local detectives. Musa was eventually tracked down and taken into custody without further incident. The Ogun State Command has since transferred the suspect and the case file to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a comprehensive investigation. He is expected to face multiple counts of murder and attempted murder once the prosecutorial framework is finalized.
