Hāpaitia te Oranga (St John) ambulance crews were alerted to the scene at approximately 2:54 PM to provide urgent medical assistance. Paramedics treated two patients on Kiwi Street before transporting them to Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. According to medical reports, one victim remains in critical condition while the second is listed in moderate condition. The identity of the victims has not been released pending family notification.
Law Enforcement Action and Arrest
New Zealand Police arrived shortly after the initial emergency call to secure the area and begin a forensic sweep of the property. Officers successfully apprehended one individual at the scene who is currently assisting with inquiries.
