A 12-year-old boy has tragically died in hospital following a multi-vehicle collision on the Monash Freeway in Dandenong North. Police continue to investigate.

The Collision at Dandenong North
The incident took place just after 2:00 PM on Sunday at the Stud Road off-ramp on the Monash Freeway in Dandenong North. Emergency services arrived to a chaotic scene where five vehicles a Mazda 3, two Mitsubishis, a BMW, and a Volkswagen Tiguan had collided.
Aerial footage from the scene showed the wreckage of the Mazda 3, which bore the brunt of the impact. The occupants of the Mazda included a 36-year-old woman from Sunbury and the 12-year-old boy, both of whom were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. On Wednesday, Victoria Police confirmed the heartbreaking news that the boy had succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Mazda 3: A 36-year-old woman remains in hospital in a serious condition. An 8-year-old girl was treated for minor injuries.
