Renovations Signal New Leadership Control at Wadata Plaza

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, supported by Nyesom Wike, has initiated significant renovation work at Wadata Plaza, the party's national secretariat. Journalists at the scene on Monday observed active construction and maintenance efforts aimed at preparing the facility for the resumption of official duties. This development marks a physical transition of power within the party headquarters following a period of closure and restricted access.

Police Withdrawal Facilitates Factional Access to Headquarters

The commencement of work follows the recent decision by the police to unseal the party secretariat, which granted access specifically to the faction aligned with Wike. While barricades that previously surrounded the main building in Zone 5 have been dismantled, a small security presence remains on the premises. Several police vehicles are still stationed within the grounds to provide security as the new leadership establishes its presence within the administrative hub.

Comprehensive Overhaul of Administrative Infrastructure

According to internal sources, the renovation project began on Sunday and involves more than just cosmetic changes. The work includes repainting the building, installing new air conditioning units, and replacing locks and keys throughout the various offices. A critical component of this process is the reallocation of office spaces to accommodate members of the new National Working Committee, effectively restructuring the administrative layout of the secretariat.
