Terrorists launched a violent midnight raid on the Olayinka community within the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, resulting in the abduction of a prominent traditional ruler. Oba Salman Olatunji Aweda was taken from his residence around midnight on Saturday by a group of more than 10 armed assailants. According to witnesses, the attackers forcibly entered the monarch’s home, seizing him and one other occupant before retreating into the surrounding bush.

Extortionate Ransom Demands Surface

Following the abduction, the kidnappers established contact to demand an exorbitant ransom of N400 million for the safe return of the monarch.
