The Breaking Development: 200 Pies for the Frontline

Daily Bread in Waiwhetu has become a hub for exhausted responders throughout Tuesday, April 21.

The Offer: Any member of the Fire, Police, Ambulance, Civil Defence, or support crews is eligible for a free pie. Responders simply need to show work ID or be in uniform.

The Volume: Bakery worker Pam Heng estimated that they have distributed between 150 and 200 pies in a single day. Some crews have arrived in groups of more than ten at a time to refuel between call-outs.

Beyond Food: In a similar gesture, Buzz Cafe on High Street is offering free coffee to emergency workers as a "small thank you for their big efforts."
