Targeted Assassination in Faskari
A targeted attack in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State has resulted in the death of a prominent community figure. On the afternoon of April 21, 2026, suspected terrorists raided the outskirts of Ruwan Godiya village, specifically targeting the residence of Sa’adu Amadu. Amadu served as the local chairman of the Butchers Association of Nigeria, and his killing has sent a wave of apprehension through the farming and trading communities in the region.
Military Response and Crime Scene Findings
Troops of Sector 2, operating under the specialized internal security mandate of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, were alerted to the terrorist activity at approximately 1:25 pm. Upon arriving at the location, security forces discovered Amadu’s body in his compound. Preliminary findings confirmed he had been shot dead at close range. Despite the rapid deployment, the perpetrators had already vacated the premises, leaving behind a community in shock.
Identification of the Lead Suspect
Intelligence and local security sources have linked the assassination to a suspected terrorist kingpin identified as Dogo Musa. Musa is believed to have led the small group of assailants that carried out the hit before fleeing into the dense vegetation surrounding the village. Security experts suggest that the targeted nature of the killing may be related to local resistance efforts or refusal to comply with illegal taxation often imposed by bandit groups in the North-West.
