Task Force Raids "Spin 24/7" Operation
Law enforcement officials in Sarasota County have dismantled a significant illegal gambling hub following a multi-agency investigation. On Monday, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) detailed the results of a search warrant executed at "Spin 24/7," an establishment located in the 5700 block of South Beneva Road. Investigators recovered 66 slot machines and a quantity of currency used in the operation. The raid was the culmination of an extensive probe into several clandestine gambling houses reported to be operating across the county in violation of state law.
Arrests of Key Personnel
The investigation led to the arrests of two individuals allegedly responsible for the facility’s operations. Mohamed Belyaqout was taken into custody directly at the business premises on March 26. A second suspect, Mabielka C. Cumbrera, was apprehended at her Sarasota residence the following day. Both face felony charges for keeping and maintaining a gambling house, alongside counts for the unlawful possession of slot machines. The pair were processed and booked into the Sarasota County Correctional Facility pending further legal proceedings.
A History of Non-Compliance
Official records indicate that the business had been on the radar of law enforcement for some time. The SCSO confirmed that a cease-and-desist letter was originally issued to the operators of Spin 24/7 in April 2025. Despite the formal warning to halt all gambling activities, the facility allegedly continued to operate, prompting the coordinated strike by the sheriff's office and the Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC). The FGCC has been increasingly active in targeting "gray market" establishments that offer unregulated electronic gaming under the guise of arcades or adult centers.
