Violent Domestic Disturbance In Wauregan

Plainfield Police officers were dispatched to the North Walnut Street area of Wauregan at approximately 12:44 a.m. on Wednesday following reports of an active domestic dispute. Initial emergency calls indicated that the situation involved the potential use of a firearm, creating a high risk environment for responding units. Before officers arrived at the residence, they were notified that the primary suspect, Jamie Brodeur Jr., had already departed the scene in a motor vehicle.

A Confrontation In Central Village

Patrol units successfully located Brodeur’s vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot of Central Village Discount Liquor. According to police reports, Brodeur appeared to be significantly impaired by alcohol and displayed immediate hostility toward the officers on the scene. The encounter quickly deteriorated as the suspect became increasingly non compliant and agitated, eventually attempting to restart his vehicle and flee from the containment area despite direct orders to surrender.

High Speed Flight And Structural Collisions

The attempt to evade police resulted in immediate property damage when Brodeur lost control of his vehicle during the exit from the parking lot. The car struck a wooden fence and a large pile of rocks, yet the suspect continued to operate the damaged vehicle at a high rate of speed. Due to the reckless nature of the driving and the inherent danger to the public during the early morning hours, officers temporarily terminated the active pursuit while maintaining a strategic line of sight on the vehicle’s direction of travel.
