Pattern of Abuse Alleged Against Detained Officer

New and disturbing allegations of misconduct have emerged against Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Usman Nuhu, who is already under investigation for the extrajudicial killing of a young man named Oghenemine in Delta State. Ozima Paris Ekeh, a resident of the area, has publicly accused Nuhu and his squad of a violent encounter in 2023 that involved physical battery and financial exploitation. These revelations suggest a historical pattern of aggressive behavior and systemic abuse prior to the recent fatal incident.

Details of the 2023 Assault and Intimidation

Ekeh detailed an incident occurring while she was traveling via a commercial motorcycle. She alleges that Nuhu’s team intercepted her in traffic and immediately escalated the situation. According to her testimony, Nuhu struck her multiple times with his firearm without any provocation. Ekeh described a scene of humiliation where she was forcibly ordered into a police shuttle bus while the officer made derogatory and inappropriate comments regarding her physical appearance, leading her to fear for her life and physical safety.

Threats of Extrajudicial Violence and Sexual Harm

Once inside the police vehicle, Ekeh claims the environment became even more hostile. She alleged that the officers openly threatened to kill her, boasting that there would be no legal consequences for her death. "I thought they might kill me or even rape me," she recounted, highlighting the atmosphere of lawlessness described by many victims of police brutality in the region. The officers reportedly used psychological pressure to ensure her "cooperation," implying that her physical well-being depended on her ability to pay them.
