The Apprehension of Homicide Suspects
Law enforcement officials in Nashville have confirmed the arrest of a 21-year-old man wanted for a deadly shooting that occurred in late 2025. Jaleic Horton was taken into custody on Tuesday, March 3, and booked into the Downtown Detention Center. Horton is facing charges of criminal homicide for his alleged role in the death of Aubrey Bellamy. A second individual linked to the incident, 20-year-old Dante Wilson, was already being held by authorities on separate weapon possession charges. The arrests bring a significant development to a case that has remained under active investigation for several months.
The Fatal Encounter on Skyline Ridge
The incident dates back to the evening of December 20, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m. Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department were dispatched to the 808 Apartments located on Skyline Ridge Drive in Madison to investigate reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered Aubrey Bellamy, 23, on the kitchen floor of an apartment. Bellamy had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. The subsequent investigation relied heavily on witness accounts to reconstruct the moments leading up to the violence.
Evidence of a Violent Confrontation
According to the official affidavit, witnesses informed investigators that Bellamy had been involved in a physical altercation with both Horton and Wilson prior to the discharge of the firearm. The report indicates that the fight became one-sided as Bellamy fell to the ground. As the victim attempted to stand back up, Horton allegedly fired the fatal shot. An autopsy later confirmed the brutal nature of the attack, revealing that Bellamy had been shot in the back. This forensic evidence aligned with witness statements regarding the victim's vulnerable position at the time of the shooting.
