Disturbance at Pine Forest Apartments Leads to Felony Arrest

A routine Friday night for residents of a Maumelle apartment complex was interrupted by a series of aggressive threats involving alleged explosives. Maumelle police were dispatched to the Pine Forest Apartments at 301 Pine Forest Circle following a 911 call regarding a tenant’s erratic and threatening behavior. Witnesses reported that a man was screaming at neighbors and making explicit claims about possessing hazardous materials, leading to concerns for the safety of the entire building.

Suspect Allegedly Demanded Arrival of Bomb Squad

According to the official arrest report, 63 year old Victor Hammonds was identified as the individual harassing his neighbors. Witnesses stated that Hammonds was yelling from his apartment, specifically shouting that he had "all kinds of bombs" inside and demanding that the bomb squad be called to the scene. The verbal threats created significant alarm among the residents, who noted that Hammonds appeared to be specifically targeting his neighbors during the outburst.

Police Encounter Uncooperative Suspect at Residence

Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with Hammonds at his unit. While police could hear Hammonds yelling from behind the closed door, the arrest report indicates that his speech was largely indistinguishable. Despite the lack of clear communication, the nature of the previous threats and the reported behavior provided sufficient grounds for officers to move forward with an arrest to neutralize the potential threat to the apartment complex.
