The Phased Release of National Examination Scores

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has continued its scheduled rollout of academic performance data by releasing the results for the Monday, April 20, examination session. According to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, this latest batch is part of a nationwide exercise that has seen over two million candidates participate in computer based testing. The board has maintained a phased release strategy since the 2026 UTME cycle commenced on April 16, ensuring that data is processed and made available as the testing window progresses across accredited centers.

Standardized Protocols for Result Access

Candidates seeking to retrieve their scores have been directed to utilize the board’s established digital channels. According to the official statement, participants are required to send a specific text code, UTMERESULT, to the designated shortcodes 55019 or 66019. JAMB has emphasized that this request must be sent from the same mobile number used during the initial registration process to ensure security and data integrity. This SMS based system remains the primary method for candidates to view their scores during the ongoing examination period.

Addressing Previous Administrative Delays

The release of the Monday results follows a period of minor disruption that affected earlier testing batches. According to JAMB authorities, results for candidates who wrote the examination on Friday and Saturday experienced a delay that prompted widespread concern and complaints from the public. The board later issued an apology for the setback, attributing the technical pause to the absence of its chief executive, who was away on other official engagements. Those delayed scores were eventually processed and released on Sunday, April 19.
