Proactive Visibility Policing During UTME

In compliance with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, the Delta State Police Command has intensified its security presence across all designated Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers. Commissioner of Police Yemi Oyeniyi personally led a tour of several centers on Friday to evaluate the effectiveness of the current deployments. This move is designed to prevent disruptions and provide a secure atmosphere for students participating in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Ensuring Professionalism and Vigilance

During his inspection, CP Oyeniyi engaged directly with the officers stationed at the exam venues. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between high vigilance and professional courtesy. The Commissioner instructed personnel to remain alert to potential security threats while ensuring that their presence does not intimidate the candidates. He reminded the officers that their primary objective is the total protection of both the academic aspirants and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) staff.

Engagement with JAMB Stakeholders

The tour included meetings with JAMB officials supervising the centers in Warri. CP Oyeniyi commended the officials for the orderly conduct of the exams witnessed so far. He reassured the stakeholders that the Police Command is fully prepared to respond to any emergencies or security complaints. Officials were encouraged to maintain open lines of communication with local Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to ensure that any technical or security hitches are addressed in real-time.
