Significant Contraband Recovery Leads to Felony Arrest
Law enforcement operations in eastern North Carolina resulted in the weekend apprehension of a Jacksonville man found in possession of a dangerous combination of illicit substances and weaponry. On March 21, officers with the Pikeville Police Department took 35 year old Jarmil Prunes into custody after a search revealed a cache of narcotics and a firearm. According to legal documentation filed following the incident, the discovery has triggered a series of felony charges that highlight the intersection of illegal drug distribution and unauthorized firearm possession in the region.
Stolen Weaponry and Prohibited Firearms Possession
The investigation into the suspect’s activities intensified after authorities identified the handgun found in his possession as a black Ruger LCP .380. Court records indicate that this specific firearm had been previously reported as stolen, adding a layer of criminal liability to the encounter. Because the suspect, identified as Prunes, has a prior felony record, the presence of the weapon resulted in a formal charge of possession of a firearm by a felon, a strict violation of both state and federal public safety mandates regarding prohibited persons.
Extensive Drug Seizure Includes Synthetic Enhancers
Beyond the recovered firearm, the search conducted by Pikeville officers yielded a significant quantity of controlled substances. Magistrate orders detail the recovery of methamphetamine, a highly addictive stimulant that remains a primary focus of local drug enforcement efforts. Additionally, the suspect was allegedly found with more than 100 separate units of Ironman Biotech Testosterone 300, including tablets and capsules. This large volume of synthetic controlled substances suggests a scale of possession that goes beyond personal use, forming a core component of the state’s case against the Jacksonville resident.
