Rapid Arrest Following Gunfire Near St. John Village

The Kinston Police Department transitioned an active burglary investigation into a high-priority shooting response during the early hours of Sunday morning. While processing a reported break-in at the St. John Village complex, law enforcement personnel were interrupted by the sound of multiple gunshots echoing from a nearby location. This immediate proximity allowed officers to mobilize instantly, shifting their focus toward the source of the discharge as the situation escalated from a property crime report to a violent life-threatening emergency.

A Pursuit and Apprehension on Parker Street

As the echoes of the gunfire subsided, officers on the scene observed a male suspect, later identified as Anthony Robinson Jr., fleeing the apartment complex on foot. Dressed entirely in black, the individual attempted to escape by running westbound across Parker Street. According to police reports, the tactical response was swift enough to intercept and detain the fleeing suspect before he could disappear into the surrounding neighborhood. This physical capture occurred just as emergency dispatchers began receiving urgent calls regarding a victim located within the residential grounds.

Emergency Care for a Wounded Adolescent

While Robinson was being secured, additional officers located a 15-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso near one of the apartment buildings. The juvenile, whose identity remains protected due to his age, required immediate medical intervention at the scene. He was subsequently transported to the ECU Health Medical Center, where medical professionals are providing treatment for the severe injuries sustained during the localized violence.
