On April 30, Buba visited the Abuja Continental Hotel to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms. As one of the first major contenders to formally join the race, the Senator framed his candidacy as a prepared and disciplined movement to return the state to the APC fold during the 2027 general elections.

Critique of the PDP Administration

During his address to newsmen in Abuja, Senator Buba delivered a sharp critique of the current administration led by Governor Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
