Arraignment and Formal Charges

Legal proceedings began Wednesday for Angelina Marina Solis, the Concord resident accused of a fatal DUI collision in Pleasant Hill. Solis entered a not guilty plea to a suite of felony charges: gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence causing injury, driving with a .08% blood alcohol content or higher, and leaving the scene of an accident. Following her plea, the court increased her bail to $350,000, and she was taken back into custody. Solis also denied several sentencing enhancements related to fleeing a crime scene and causing great bodily injury.

Details of the Fatal Collision

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, March 8, 2026, at approximately 1:50 a.m. According to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, Solis was driving a dark-colored Mazda SUV northbound on Contra Costa Boulevard. Investigators allege she disregarded a red light at the intersection of Taylor Boulevard, striking 41-year-old Pleasant Hill resident Timarie Rachelle Orso. Orso was reportedly crossing the street in a marked crosswalk with another individual at the time of the impact. While bystanders attempted to provide medical aid, Orso was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation and Apprehension

Following the collision, the driver of the Mazda fled the area before emergency responders could arrive. Pleasant Hill Police investigators later located the suspect vehicle parked and unoccupied several blocks away in the city of Concord. The SUV displayed damage consistent with a recent high-impact collision. Officers identified Solis as the registered owner and took her into custody later that morning. Though she initially posted bail following her arrest, the new $350,000 requirement set during her arraignment resulted in her being remanded to the Martinez Detention Facility.
