Fatal Collision at Contra Costa and Taylor Boulevards

A 41-year-old female bicyclist was killed early Sunday morning, March 8, in a violent collision that has resulted in a local woman facing multiple felony charges. Pleasant Hill Police Department officers responded to reports of a traffic incident at the intersection of Contra Costa Boulevard and Taylor Boulevard just before 1:50 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders located the victim with critical injuries; despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity is currently being withheld pending notification of her next of kin.

Suspect Vehicle Located Blocks Away in Concord

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash fled the area before law enforcement arrived, prompting an immediate regional search. Through the course of the investigation, Pleasant Hill officers identified the suspect vehicle as a dark-colored Mazda SUV. The vehicle was discovered unoccupied and parked several blocks away in Concord, exhibiting front-end damage consistent with a high-impact collision.

Arrest and Criminal Charges

Shortly after the vehicle was located, police identified the registered owner and suspected driver as 45-year-old Angelina Solis. The Concord resident was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Contra Costa County Jail. Solis is currently facing charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony hit-and-run resulting in death or injury.
