British Nursery Worker Sentenced to 30 Years for Sexual Assault of Toddlers

Surveillance Footage Uncovers Systematic Abuse

The investigation into Nathan Bennett began in February 2025 at a nursery in Bristol after colleagues and parents reported suspicious behavior. Upon reviewing the facility's CCTV system, the nursery manager discovered evidence of Bennett assaulting children in his care. Specialist child protection officers from the Avon and Somerset Police subsequently reviewed hundreds of hours of footage from 18 different cameras, eventually identifying five "very young" victims. The evidence captured on camera was described by prosecutors as a systematic betrayal of the trust placed in daycare providers.

The Sentencing and Judicial Remarks

During the trial, Judge William Hart characterized Bennett as a "predatory" and "dangerous" individual who "polluted the innocence" of toddlers to satisfy his own desires. Despite Bennett expressing remorse during the proceedings, the court found his actions to be a calculated exploitation of his professional position. Bennett was convicted on 21 counts, including:
