The crime spree began at approximately 8:10 PM on Monday, April 6, 2026, when two armed offenders entered a commercial premises on Briggs Road in the suburb of Shirley. During the encounter, an employee was assaulted. The offenders fled the scene in a stolen vehicle; police are still determining the specific items or cash taken during this first breach.
Just ten minutes later, at 8:20 PM, a second robbery was reported on nearby McBratneys Road. Again, two armed individuals entered the premises, this time explicitly targeting cash. An employee at this second location was also assaulted, sustaining moderate injuries.
Hospitalization and Medical Status
Emergency services responded to both locations, transporting the injured staff members to the hospital. While the specific nature of the injuries from the first attack remains undisclosed, the employee from the McBratneys Road site is being treated for moderate physical trauma. Both victims are receiving ongoing medical care.
