Late-Night Confrontation in the Loop

A violent encounter in downtown Chicago has left a man fighting for his life following a robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store. The incident occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Friday in the 100 block of West Adams Street. According to Chicago police, an unidentified male entered the establishment and began removing items from the shelves. The situation escalated into violence when the suspect exited the store and was confronted by a 32-year-old male victim on the sidewalk.

Escalation to Gunfire

The confrontation quickly turned deadly when the suspect produced a firearm and discharged multiple rounds at the victim. The 32-year-old sustained several gunshot wounds to his body before the assailant fled the scene on foot. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and transported the victim to Northwestern Hospital, where he remains listed in critical condition.
