Five Municipalities Join Forces For Targeted Drug Suppression

A coordinated effort between local police departments and state agents has resulted in the arrest of a Robinson man suspected of operating a high volume drug distribution point. The raid, which took place Thursday at a home on Statia Street, involved officers from five municipalities working alongside the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Narcotics Enforcement Team. District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala, Jr. characterized the bust as a critical strike against the illegal narcotics trade impacting the West End sections of Pittsburgh.

Large Stash Of Narcotics And Cash Discovered In Ranch Home

According to the criminal complaint filed by McKees Rocks police, investigators discovered 907 grams of suspected cocaine and 32 grams of psychedelic mushrooms inside the three bedroom residence. The search also revealed a substantial amount of currency totaling 29,151 dollars, which was found hidden in a basement safe, stored in the kitchen, and kept on a bedroom nightstand. Officers noted the presence of mixing supplies and drug cutting materials, suggesting the location was being used for the processing and packaging of illicit substances.

Illegal Ghost Gun Seized During Basement Search

In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement recovered two firearms from the property. One of the weapons was identified as a "ghost gun," a privately manufactured firearm lacking a serial number, which makes it nearly impossible for authorities to track. Two boxes of ammunition were found on a basement shelf near the weapons. The discovery of casino receipts on the kitchen counter has also been noted as part of the evidence collection, as investigators look into potential money laundering or the source of the recovered cash.
