The victims have been identified as 38,year,old Kate Paterson, a local teacher, and her infant daughter, April. Police arrived at the residence on Thursday morning intended on delivering news about a separate traffic incident, only to find the mother and child deceased inside. Witness Reports Detail Injuries Prior To Pedestrian Accident

The chain of events began approximately 10 miles away on Beaudesert Beenleigh Road in Logan. At around 7:30 a.m., witnesses reported seeing a 39,year,old man running toward traffic before being struck by a car. According to Superintendent Ahearn, several witnesses observed that the man appeared to have significant injuries to his neck area before the collision occurred. This detail has led investigators to believe the man’s physical state was connected to the earlier events at the family home, suggesting a violent struggle may have preceded his flight from the residence.
