Roanoke Police officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Norfolk Avenue SW at approximately 9:46 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026, following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, first responders located an adult male suffering from multiple critical gunshot wounds. The victim was stabilized at the scene by Roanoke Fire-EMS and quickly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery. Despite the efforts of medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
