Midnight Interdiction on the Karasuwa Corridor
Troops serving under the mandate of Operation Hadin Kai successfully disrupted an illegal fuel supply chain in Yobe State during the late hours of March 27. The tactical maneuver was executed by the 241 Battalion, specifically units stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Jajimaji, at approximately 11:38 pm. According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the soldiers were acting on verified intelligence reports that pointed toward unauthorized petroleum movements originating from local filling stations.
Intelligence Led Operations Against Smuggling
The interception was the result of a deliberate surveillance effort focused on identifying vulnerabilities within the regional fuel distribution network. Security forces had been monitoring suspicious activities involving specific retail outlets in the area that were suspected of facilitating illegal supplies. According to reports shared on X, the troops utilized this credible intelligence to establish a patrol presence along the Karasuwa–Jajiri road, a known artery for the movement of illicit goods under the cover of darkness.
Tactical Recovery Following Driver Evasion
During the height of the night patrol, the military unit encountered a suspicious vehicle that attempted to bypass the security screen. Upon realizing that interception was imminent, the driver opted to abandon the transport and fled into the surrounding terrain on foot. According to Hadiza Musa, the soldiers immediately secured the site and conducted a thorough search of the abandoned asset, which led to the discovery of 34 jerrycans filled with Premium Motor Spirit.
