Swift Police Intervention Following Residential Assault

The Ogun State Police Command has successfully apprehended four men suspected of involvement in a violent armed robbery and cult-related activities in the Ilaro area. The arrests, executed by officers attached to the Ilaro Division, followed a distress report filed on April 16, 2026. According to official police accounts, the operation was initiated after a local resident reported that a gang of seven individuals had forcibly entered his home to carry out a targeted robbery.

Suspects Identified Amid Recovery of Stolen Assets

The detained individuals have been identified as Samson John and Odeh Samuel Ejeh, both aged 25, alongside Olufowora Michael and Olajide Jeremiah, both aged 28. During the arrest, police operatives successfully recovered a high-value iPhone 14 Pro Max, which had been forcibly taken from the victim during the encounter. The swift tracking of the suspects allowed the command to secure the device before it could be liquidated or moved out of the Ilaro jurisdiction.

Seizure of Firearms and Cult Related Paraphernalia

Beyond the recovery of stolen property, a search of the suspects yielded a cache of dangerous items used during the commission of the crime. In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, it was confirmed that officers seized a locally manufactured pistol, a battle axe, and several charms. These items are frequently associated with organized cult violence in the region, prompting an escalation of the charges to include unlawful possession of firearms and cultism.
