Unprovoked Assault Near Circus Circus

The incident occurred on the morning of February 28 near the intersection of Elvis Presley Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard South. According to the arrest report, a man in his 50s who uses a wheelchair was traveling along the sidewalk when he encountered an individual, later identified as Jacob Danielson, lying motionless on the ground. When the victim attempted to move past what he believed was a "lifeless body," Danielson reportedly stood up and attacked the victim from behind. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect grab the victim's collar with enough force to nearly pull him out of his wheelchair.

Police Drone and Foot Pursuit

Following the assault, Danielson allegedly fled south along the Strip, shouting at pedestrians and discarding items of clothing. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers deployed a drone to maintain visual contact with the suspect as he moved through the crowded tourist area. The drone footage allowed ground units to pinpoint Danielson's location near an LVMPD kiosk. Although he initially ignored verbal commands, officers were able to take him into custody without further incident.

Intoxication and Unintelligible Statements

During the investigation, Danielson reportedly admitted to being intoxicated, stating, "I'm only drunk." However, his behavior during transport and booking was described as increasingly agitated and erratic. Police noted that Danielson made several unintelligible claims, including telling officers, "I'm a spider," alongside various politically motivated statements directed at the victim. The victim, who declined medical treatment at the scene, informed officers of his intent to press formal charges.
