Rapid Deployment Following Campus Security Breach
Troops assigned to Operation UDO KA successfully neutralized a potential security threat at the Federal University Ndufu-Alike in Ikwo, Ebonyi State, during the late hours of March 25. According to security expert Zagazola Makama, the operation was initiated at approximately 9:25 pm after the university’s Chief Security Officer reported audible gunfire linked to suspected cultist activities. Units from the Forward Operating Base in Ikwo responded with a swift tactical deployment, arriving at the scene to restore order and secure the immediate vicinity of the academic institution.
Initial Apprehensions and Seizure of Tactical Weapons
Upon arrival at the suspected site of the disturbance, military personnel intercepted and detained three individuals believed to be affiliated with local cult groups. According to military sources, a search of the suspects yielded several prohibited items, including knives and scissors, which were being carried in direct violation of campus safety protocols. The speed of the response was credited with preventing further escalation of violence, as the suspects were taken into custody without further shots being fired.
Interrogation Leads to Hidden Firearm Recovery
During a preliminary field interrogation, the detained suspects provided intelligence regarding a fourth accomplice who was allegedly in possession of a more lethal weapon. According to the reports provided by Makama, the troops utilized this information to launch a secondary raid on a specific residential accommodation within the area. Although the primary target of this follow up mission managed to evade capture before the units arrived, the tactical search of the premises proved successful in removing a dangerous instrument from the student environment.
