Coordinated Military Offensive in Plateau Council Areas

The Nigerian Army successfully executed a series of targeted operations on Thursday, aimed at dismantling established terrorist networks in Plateau State. Under the banner of Operation Wutan Daji, troops focused their efforts on known insurgent corridors within the Wase and Kanam council areas. The tactical mission was designed to disrupt the movement of armed groups and restore stability to communities that have faced persistent security threats.

Tactical Engagement and Combat Recovery

Military units established strategic blocking positions between Dutsen Zaki and the Odare Forest to intercept insurgents moving through the region. According to official operational reports, the troops encountered a group of terrorists traveling on motorcycles, leading to an immediate and intense gunfight. While several insurgents were killed during the exchange, others managed to retreat into the dense forest with suspected gunshot wounds.

Exploitation of the Seri and Daba Axis

Following the initial engagement, the Army conducted a thorough exploitation of the area surrounding Seri and Daba villages. During this phase of the operation, soldiers recovered the bodies of 10 terrorists left behind in the wake of the retreat. The search also yielded a variety of combat items, including an AK,47 rifle, a magazine containing 7.62mm special ammunition, and two motorcycles used by the group for rapid transit.
