Strategic Dismantling of FCT Drug Networks
In a major crackdown on illicit substance distribution, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dismantled several notorious drug joints and bunks operating within and around Abuja. The operation, which took place between April 11 and April 25, 2026, targeted hubs identified as major contributors to trafficking and related criminal activities in the capital. According to a statement released on Friday by Femi Babafemi, Director of Media and Advocacy, the sweep was the result of weeks of intensive intelligence gathering and surveillance across high-risk areas.
Key Raided Locations and Recovery Statistics
The coordinated raids spanned various hotspots across the FCT, including Gwarinpa, Area 3, Jabi, Wuse Zone 4, and the Suleja axis. During the exercise, operatives recovered a total of 220 kilograms of assorted drugs. The haul included:
214.79 kg of Skunk (a potent cannabis strain)
93.52 grams of Cocaine
