Nationwide Mobilization Schedule
The National Youth Service Corps has formalized the schedule for the 2026 Batch A Stream Two orientation course, marking the start of the service year for thousands of Nigerian graduates. In a statement issued on Wednesday from the Abuja headquarters, Director of Information and Public Relations Caroline Embu confirmed that the program will be held across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The exercise is designed to provide a uniform introductory experience for eligible participants as they begin their one year of mandatory national service.
Registration and Swearing In Procedures
Prospective corps members are expected to arrive at their designated orientation camps for reception and registration starting on April 22. The scheme has set a strict deadline for this initial phase, with registration activities scheduled to conclude at midnight on April 24. Following the completion of the registration process, the formal swearing in ceremony will take place on April 24. This event serves as the official induction of the graduates into the scheme and initiates the intensive activities of the orientation curriculum.
Service Timeline and Primary Assignments
The orientation course is scheduled to run for three weeks, officially concluding on May 12. During this period, participants will undergo various training modules intended to foster national integration and prepare them for their roles in different sectors of the economy. Upon the completion of the course, corps members will be deployed to their respective places of primary assignment. These deployments are a core component of the 1973 mandate to promote unity by sending graduates to work in states other than their own.
