Violent Crimes and Domestic Assault Arrests

The mid-March reporting period saw a significant number of individuals taken into custody for interpersonal violence. Fort Bragg and Ukiah police departments, alongside the Sheriff’s Office, processed several domestic violence cases involving suspects ranging in age from 19 to 40. Notable bookings include Sarita Goodwin, 38, of San Francisco, and William R. Hutton III, 25, of Clearlake, the latter of whom also faces charges for the illegal use of tear gas. Additionally, 26-year-old Gillian E. Gash of Gualala was booked on suspicion of battery inflicting serious injury, while Serah A. Stetson, 44, faces assault with a deadly weapon charges.

DUI and Firearm Possession Leads Weekend Bookings

California Highway Patrol and local agencies were active in monitoring road safety, resulting in several DUI arrests. Vincente T. Caruso, 28, of Redwood Valley, was booked not only on suspicion of driving under the influence but also for carrying a loaded firearm in a public place. Other DUI bookings included individuals from Ukiah, Clearlake, and Windsor, with ages ranging from 20 up to 71. The Ukiah Daily Journal emphasizes that all reported DUI cases provided by law enforcement are published without exception as part of public record.

Property Crimes, Burglary, and Felony Vandalism

Property-related offenses were also prominent in the recent sheriff's report. Cheryl K. Mattson, 53, of Willits, was apprehended by Willits Police on suspicion of burglary. In separate incidents, two individuals were booked for felony vandalism: Timothy G. Banuelos, 33, of Ukiah, and Matthew S. Want, 58, of Covelo. These arrests highlight ongoing efforts by Mendocino County law enforcement to address property damage and unauthorized entry within both urban and rural communities.
