Major Felony Arrests and Violent Crimes

A significant arrest was reported by the Ukiah Police Department (UPD) on April 7. Luis D. RojasErostico, 25, of Ukiah, was booked on a wide array of felony charges, including suspicion of rape, kidnapping, domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, and child cruelty. In a separate incident on April 8, Batechaa W. Steele, 23, also of Ukiah, was booked on suspicion of domestic violence and damaging a communication device.

Burglary and Conspiracy Investigations

Property crimes and organized theft efforts led to several bookings on April 7. Demare Robert Burgess, 31, of San Leandro, was taken into custody by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy. Daniel E. Goodwin, 25, of Sacramento, faces similar charges of burglary and conspiracy, with an additional count for the possession of burglary tools.

Narcotics Distribution and Possession

Multiple individuals were processed on drug-related charges throughout the two-day period. Lukus B. Buzzard, 27, and Hayley C. Chesser, 28, both of Willits, were booked April 8 for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale and conspiracy. Amanda L. Kennedy, 38, and Robert Huang, 44, also face various narcotics possession charges, with Huang’s case involving additional allegations of obstructing a first responder and violating parole.
