Security Footage Leads to Rapid Identification

A weekend burglary at a popular Madisonville establishment has resulted in the arrest of a local resident. Officers with the Madisonville Police Department utilized high definition security footage from Swaggy P’s Kitchen & Coffee Bar to identify 50 year old Brian Kingery as the primary suspect. The footage reportedly captured the unauthorized entry and the subsequent search of the premises, providing investigators with the evidence needed to secure an arrest warrant early Monday morning.

Forced Entry and Property Damage Confirmed

According to a police affidavit, Kingery did not rely solely on stealth to carry out the crime. While he admitted to investigators that he had initially stolen a key to enter the building, he reportedly used a hammer to break through the door of the interior office. Once inside the administrative area, the suspect allegedly targeted the business's financial assets, prying at a cash register with the hammer and causing significant mechanical damage to the unit.

Confession and Recovery of Evidence

Following his apprehension on Monday, Kingery reportedly provided a full statement to detectives. He admitted to the specific methods used during the burglary, including the theft of a money bag from the office. The hammer used in the commission of the crime was cited as a primary piece of physical evidence, leading to additional charges regarding the possession of criminal tools. Police have not yet confirmed how much of the stolen currency has been recovered.
