Upcycling for Survival
The charity’s approach combines humanitarian relief with sustainable engineering. The stoves are not imported from New Zealand but are manufactured locally in small workshops across Kyiv and Kharkiv.
The Build: Each unit is repurposed from broken-down electrical hot water cylinders.
The Function: These multi-purpose devices provide heat, hot water, and a surface for cooking—essential for families living in frontline "red zones" where the electrical grid has been destroyed or is unreliable.
"People-to-People" Diplomacy
Every stove features a small brass plaque etched with a map of New Zealand and the message, "With love from New Zealand."
