Vocational Success in Jega and Aliero
Hundreds of women from the Jega and Aliero Local Government Areas have officially graduated from a comprehensive skills acquisition initiative. The program, spearheaded by the Nasara Foundation, focused on providing practical vocational training to enhance the economic prospects of women within these communities. During the graduation ceremonies held in Aliero on April 23, 2026, the foundation celebrated the transition of these beneficiaries from trainees to skilled practitioners ready for the local workforce.
A Call for Collective Social Advocacy
Representing the First Lady of Kebbi State, Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nasara Foundation, Balkisu Nasir, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the necessity of social collaboration. Nasir noted that advancing the status of women and youth requires a unified effort involving citizens, political leaders, and various regional stakeholders. The foundation's leadership highlighted that such empowerment programs are essential for extending support to the less privileged and driving meaningful social change across the state.
Protection of Economic Resources
A critical component of the graduation address involved a direct warning to the beneficiaries regarding the management of their new assets. Nasir strictly cautioned the women against the temptation to sell the starter packs distributed to them, urging them instead to use the tools as a foundation for their livelihoods. According to Nasir, the proper utilization of these newly acquired skills and equipment is the only way for the graduates to provide sustainable support for themselves and their families.
