A Decisive Economic Blow to the Iranian Regime

In a major escalation of its strategic bombing campaign, the Israeli Air Force has struck the South Pars gas field in Asaluyeh, home to Iran’s largest petrochemical facility. Defense Minister Israel Katz officially confirmed the operation, stating that the facility alone was responsible for approximately 50% of the nation’s total petrochemical production. This high-precision strike follows a previous successful operation against the country's second-largest facility last week. According to Katz, the cumulative effect of these raids has been the total neutralization of the two primary hubs that together account for 85% of Iran’s petrochemical exports.

Targeting the Financial Engine of the IRGC

The Israeli Ministry of Defense has framed these infrastructure strikes as a direct assault on the financial foundations of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Minister Katz characterized the petrochemical industry as the "central engine" used by the regime to fund regional aggression and domestic military expansion. By removing the ability of the state to generate tens of billions of dollars in export revenue, Israel aims to create a strategic deficit that will hamper the IRGC's operational capabilities across the Middle East. The IDF has reportedly been instructed to continue targeting national infrastructure with "full force" until the regime’s capabilities face total collapse.

The Second Wave: Marvdasht Petrochemical Complex

Shortly after the Asaluyeh strikes, a second wave of aerial activity was reported at the Marvdasht Petrochemical Complex. Iranian state media, including the Fars news agency, described the incident as an "American-Zionist enemy attack." While a fire was sparked at the complex, local officials claimed the blaze was quickly brought under control and that no immediate casualties were reported. The targeting of Marvdasht further solidifies a pattern of systematic destruction aimed at the regime's industrial assets, leaving few functional refineries to process raw materials for international sale.
