Grave Site Apprehension
A disturbing case of ritualistic activity has come to light in the Nafada Local Government Area of Gombe State. The chain of events began when a vigilant resident, Zakari Ibrahim, noticed suspicious activity at the Barwo Sabon Gari graveyard. He observed 30-year-old Umar Ibrahim actively digging a grave and immediately alerted the authorities. The intervention prevented the further desecration of the site and led to the immediate arrest of the primary suspect by local police.
Confessions of Ritual Solicitation
Under police interrogation, the 30-year-old suspect provided a chilling account of his motivations. He reportedly admitted that he was acting on the direct instructions of his father, 60-year-old Ibrahim Usman. The elder Usman allegedly commissioned his son to procure specific human body parts from the deceased to be used in occult rituals. This revelation led to the swift apprehension of the father, as authorities moved to dismantle the family-linked ritual circle.
A History of Desecration
The investigation has revealed that this was not an isolated incident. Umar Ibrahim confessed to a previous act of grave robbing in 2025. During that incident, he successfully exhumed a human toe from the same graveyard. He identified the recipient of the body part as 35-year-old Alhaji Bappa Abdu. Following this lead, the police arrested Abdu, who is now being investigated for his role in purchasing or soliciting human remains for ritualistic use.
