Emergency Response to Gunfire in Huron
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has launched a homicide investigation following a deadly shooting in the city of Huron on Friday afternoon. Deputies were dispatched to the area at approximately 4:45 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired near the intersection of Crocker Avenue and Los Angeles Street. Upon arrival, law enforcement located an individual in the roadway suffering from critical gunshot wounds.
Victim Pronounced Dead at the Scene
Despite the arrival of emergency medical personnel, the victim's injuries proved fatal. Authorities confirmed that the individual was pronounced dead shortly after deputies reached the scene. As of Friday evening, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name, age, or city of residence, pending the notification of next of kin.
Detectives Search for Suspect Information
Homicide detectives and forensic investigators spent several hours at the Huron intersection collecting physical evidence and canvassing the neighborhood for potential witnesses. No suspect description has been provided by the Sheriff’s Office, and it remains unclear if the shooting was a targeted attack or the result of a spontaneous physical altercation.
