A Sanctuary for Restoration in Obafe Town
A Christian based non-governmental organization, the Everlasting Fountain Welfare Initiative, has officially commenced the construction of a major residential facility for the homeless and underprivileged. Located in Obafe Town off the Abeokuta Ajebo Road, the project spans seven hectares and is intended to serve as a beacon of dignity for those in need. Mrs. Abiola Adeniyi, the founder of the initiative, stated that the groundbreaking ceremony represents a critical step in the organization's mission to provide comprehensive support and hope to vulnerable communities in Ogun State.
Integrated Rehabilitation and Vocational Empowerment
The project, titled Everlasting Shelters for Homeless and Underprivileged, is designed to be more than a simple housing facility. The 500 capacity center will function as a rehabilitation hub, offering residents vocational training in practical trades such as shoemaking, tailoring, hairdressing, and soap production. According to the organization, these programs are essential for ensuring that individuals do not merely receive temporary aid but are equipped with the skills necessary to achieve long term financial independence and societal reintegration.
Sustainable Living Through Agricultural Training
In addition to industrial vocational skills, the initiative plans to incorporate a farming institute within the seven hectare site. This component of the project is aimed at equipping residents with advanced agricultural techniques, allowing them to cultivate their own food and contribute to a sustainable living environment. Adeniyi emphasized that the acquisition of the land was a vital milestone that enables the organization to expand its impact from small local interventions to a broader national scale focused on self sufficiency and food security.
