A New Era for Trans-European Rail
The launch of the Paris-Brussels-Berlin overnight route marks a significant milestone in the revival of European sleeper trains. Managed by the cooperative European Sleeper, the service aims to reduce the friction of international travel by bypassing airport security and baggage restrictions. This "slow travel" movement is gaining momentum as travelers prioritize sustainability and the convenience of departing from city centers, such as Paris’s Gare du Nord, and arriving at major hubs like Berlin Hauptbahnhof.
Route Schedule and Frequency
The service operates on a thrice-weekly rotation, catering to both mid-week commuters and weekend travelers:
Paris to Berlin (Tue / Thu / Sun): Departs Gare du Nord at 5:45 PM, arrives in Brussels at 9:45 PM, and reaches Berlin by 9:59 AM the following day.
Berlin to Paris (Mon / Wed / Fri): Departs Berlin at 6:31 PM, stops in Brussels at 7:56 AM, and arrives in Paris at 10:00 AM.
