Chronology of the Disappearance
The investigation into the disappearance of Genesis Reid took a grim turn on Monday when Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore announced that the toddler is believed to have been killed on December 25, 2025. Adrienne Reid did not report her daughter missing until February 16, 2026, more than a month and a half after the alleged murder. Initially charged with making false statements to law enforcement, Reid now faces a capital murder indictment as forensic evidence and witness accounts have reshaped the timeline of the case.
Surveillance Video as Key Evidence
A breakthrough in the case came from a neighbor’s surveillance system. According to Chief Moore, footage from Christmas night at approximately 11:30 p.m. shows Adrienne Reid walking toward an apartment complex dumpster with a rolling duffel bag. A second video recorded two days later allegedly shows Reid returning to the same dumpster to dispose of toys and other personal items belonging to Genesis. This visual evidence has become the cornerstone of the prosecution's argument that the child's body was hidden long before the missing person report was filed.
The Search for Remains
Genesis Reid’s body has not yet been recovered. Coffee County Sheriff Scott Byrd stated that investigators are focusing their efforts on the Coffee County landfill, where the contents of the apartment dumpster were likely transported. The search is expected to be a methodical, multi-agency operation involving specialized heavy equipment and forensic teams. Officials acknowledged the difficulty of searching a landfill months after an incident but emphasized their commitment to finding the remains to provide a proper burial and secure physical evidence for trial.
