The Property Manager's Defense
Quan Shu, manager of the rental via his business ARent1, has claimed that he and his company are the "most serious victims" of the incident.
Extent of Damage: Shu reported that thousands of dollars in damage was done to the property. "They broke the door. They broke the vanity. They took all the inside furniture, duvets, everything," he stated.
Contractual Breaches: The booking was reportedly made for only two people. Shu emphasized that all guests sign an agreement regarding quiet hours and permitted occupants, but claimed the renters intentionally misled the company to host a large gathering.
Legal Frustration: Shu expressed helplessness, noting that even when the Tenancy Tribunal orders compensation for past damages, the money is rarely recovered because the individuals involved often have no funds or cannot be located.
