This operation, which concluded its latest phase on March 30, marks a significant logistical undertaking during a period characterized by heightened regional uncertainty. While the group included 536 Azerbaijani citizens returning to their home country, the vast majority of those assisted were foreign nationals seeking a secure transit route out of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Diversity of the International Contingent

The evacuation involved citizens from more than 80 different nations, reflecting the global reach of the crisis and Azerbaijan's capacity to handle complex international movements. The largest foreign groups included 728 citizens from China, 354 from Russia, and nearly 400 combined from Bangladesh and India. Significant numbers of nationals from Tajikistan and Pakistan were also processed, alongside smaller contingents from Oman, Indonesia, and various European states. The presence of citizens from nearly every continent underscores the broad international reliance on Azerbaijani infrastructure during this period.

Western and Asian Nationals Among the Evacuees

Western nations were well-represented in the evacuation figures, with individuals from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, and Spain successfully reaching Azerbaijani soil. From the Asian and Pacific regions, the operation facilitated the movement of citizens from Japan, Australia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Even smaller groups and individual citizens from nations such as the Vatican, Argentina, and South Africa were included in the transit, demonstrating an inclusive humanitarian approach that transcended diplomatic and geographic boundaries.
