Jakarta Executes Third Phase of Emergency Citizen Extraction

The Indonesian government has successfully initiated a third wave of evacuations from Iran, moving to protect its nationals as regional tensions remain dangerously unpredictable. According to the Foreign Ministry, this latest operation aims to repatriate a total of 45 Indonesians during the current week. This development is part of a broader, sustained effort by Jakarta to withdraw its citizens from the Middle East, a process that has been ongoing since March in response to the volatile security climate in the region.

Successful Arrival of Initial Evacuee Groups in Banten

Significant progress has been made in the logistical execution of this rescue mission, with the Ministry’s citizen protection director, Heni Hamidah, confirming that 32 Indonesians reached domestic soil by April 16. These individuals arrived at Soekarno,Hatta International Airport, marking a critical milestone in the government's protection strategy. The successful landing of this group brings the total number of Indonesians repatriated since the beginning of the crisis in March to 66 citizens, highlighting the scale of the ministry's intervention.

Stranded Shipping Crew Await Final Transport from Azerbaijan

While a majority of the current evacuation group has returned, 13 Indonesian nationals remain in transit. These individuals, all identified as professional shipping crew members, are currently stationed in Baku, Azerbaijan. According to official reports, they are awaiting the next available flight to complete their journey home. The use of Baku as a transit point underscores the complex logistical maneuvering required to navigate international airspace and transport links during a period of heightened regional instability.
