A domestic dispute over financial support turned deadly Friday morning in an Arlington apartment complex, leading to the arrest of a 21 year old man. According to the Arlington Police Department, the suspect, identified as Rontrell Jackson, engaged in a verbal altercation with his grandmother that quickly escalated into physical violence. The disagreement reportedly centered on the loss of Jackson’s allowance money, a point of tension that detectives believe served as the primary catalyst for the fatal shooting that occurred inside the residence.

Discovery Of The Victim and Initial Police Response

The severity of the incident remained hidden until approximately 4:40 p.m. on Friday, when a family member arrived at the Carriage House Circle apartment and discovered a woman unresponsive on the patio. Emergency responders arriving at the scene found the 68 year old victim with a clear gunshot wound, and she was officially pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The location of the body on the exterior of the residence immediately raised suspicions among investigators, who noted that the crime scene appeared to have been tampered with prior to their arrival.
