Federal Court Issues Decade Long Sentence for Narcotics Distribution

A Little Rock man identified as Clifford Siglar will spend 140 months in federal prison for his role in a significant drug trafficking operation. The 38,year,old defendant was sentenced by United States District Judge James M. Moody, Jr. following a 2024 indictment that linked him to the distribution of lethal synthetic opioids. According to Jonathan D. Ross, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, the sentence includes an additional five years of supervised release to ensure public safety after Siglar completes his term.

High Speed Pursuit Ends in Camaro Crash and Foot Chase

The conviction stems from a summer 2024 investigation where law enforcement officers observed Siglar conducting suspected narcotics sales at a local residence. On August 26, 2024, officers attempted to intercept Siglar as he operated a black Chevrolet Camaro, leading to a dangerous pursuit that reached speeds of 114 miles per hour. Arkansas State Police utilized an immobilization maneuver to stop the vehicle, causing it to crash into a wooded area. Though Siglar was ejected from the car during the impact, he attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended by the Little Rock Police Department.

Seizure of Massive Fentanyl Cache and Loaded Firearm

A subsequent search of the wrecked vehicle uncovered a .57,caliber handgun on the driver side floorboard and a backpack containing approximately 2.6 kilograms of fentanyl. Investigative reports suggest that the volume of drugs recovered could have been processed into more than 26,000 individual doses, highlighting the scale of the threat posed to the community. Officers also recovered digital scales in the trunk, providing further evidence of an active intent to distribute the illicit substances across the region.
