The Reputation Hit: European companies, particularly those from the German-speaking market, are beginning to view the Cook Strait as a "systemic risk" to their itineraries.
Financial Liability: Under European Union Travel Law, EU-based tour companies are liable for cancelled services. A single disrupted sailing can result in cumulative losses of over $21,000 for a single tour operator due to refunds, missed activities, and emergency re-bookings.
