Strategic assessment of military progress

The White House provided an updated assessment of Operation Epic Fury on Friday, stating that between four and six weeks will be required to meet the administration’s primary war objectives. Officials noted that the Iranian navy has reached a state of being combat ineffective following a week of intensive strikes. Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces reported that the Air Force has dropped over 6,500 bombs within Iran, with plans to increase the frequency of attacks on regime leadership sites and missile production facilities across the country.

Retaliation against American regional assets

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for targeting the Al-Dhafra air base in the United Arab Emirates using drones and precision missiles. Iranian state television reported that the strike was carried out in retaliation for a coalition attack on a girls' elementary school in Minab county on the previous Saturday. The IRGC alleged that the Al-Dhafra base served as the launchpad for the strike on the school, which Iranian authorities claim resulted in over 150 casualties, including numerous students.

Escalation of hostilities in Lebanon

Military operations have expanded significantly beyond Iranian borders, with the Lebanese health ministry reporting at least nine deaths from Israeli airstrikes in the eastern Baalbek district. The strikes, which targeted the town of Nabi Sheet, also wounded 17 people as fighting between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah entered its fifth day. Additionally, reports emerged that a Ghana peacekeeping battalion headquarters in Lebanon was struck by missile attacks, further complicating the international security landscape in the Levant.
